Mud Room Makeover

Our house is small for six people but we love it and make it work. With four kids it gets cluttered very fast (the good thing is a small house cleans up fast) Our mud room gets so bad sometimes I decided to do something about it! I came across this beautiful mud room on this blog (which for the life of me can't find aargh) and took insperation from it!

I got to work right away!
Here's the BEFORE (I'm ashamed)

Jackets everywhere even tho we have hooks, shoes everywhere even tho we have shoe buckets (thats those green buckets under the bench) Winter hats and scarves thrown over the pile even tho theres a bucket for them too.

Here's our AFTER

I decided that we didnt need the clutter out for everyone to see :) To the right is our front closet. We put the shoe buckets in their on a shelf (the kids actualy like it better because they're higher) we hang our jackets up on hangers now and the winter bucket is on the bottom. This eliminates the clutter look but everything is still organized. I then painted the becnch black, which I LOVE, and aded some pictures! I had the mirror sitting around waiting for a project just like this however is was silver...it got painted to! I made the wall decals myself. I bought rolls of contact paper at Michaels and used my exacto knife to cut out what I wanted.

I also made this awsome record clock. The clock kit was only $6 at Michaels and was super simple to put together. The calender is the next to be re-done.I'll keep the same idea with picture frame and dry erase but I want to get a new frame and paint it and use decals to make the calender. When I do I will post it :)

So there's our new mud room. I hope you get some fun ideas.
