Theater Seats Re-Do

I have wanted theater seats for the longest time! I fianlly found some for pretty cheap although they're bright red lol Hubby and I decided to give them a complete makeover!

BEFORE

AFTER
We built a base for it. Since all out other furniture is a dark wood and black combination, we did the same thing to the base. Stained the top and painted the outside. We took apart every chair, cleaned and painted them black, put new material on and them and then put them back together :) It only took us two days. The entire project including chairs, paint, wood and material cost about $200 but no one else will ever have something like this! I Love Them!

5 more min please!

I'm sure all mothers at one point have told their kids "5 more minutes please!" My kids have a good bedtime routine "shoes, pants, potty, drink, teeth" (our saying before bed to make sure everything is covered) Then off to bed for school the next morning. However they like to get up right as the sun rises :-) It took me a little while of trying to figure out a fun and creative way to make sure they, and I, got enough rest. I bought a clock and took the face of, then I colored from 5-7 RED and from 7-9 GREEN. I put little star stickers on the hour hand and put it all back together. I then told my children when the hour hand with the star stickers is in the red you cant get out of bed. I gave my children options of: laying there and resting, reading a book or playing with a small toy, BUT you can not wake up your siblings. When the star hand is in the green you may get out of bed and play softly until mommy comes to get you ready for school (my kids are old enough to play in their rooms by themselves but if you have younger ones you can change the rules:-) So far it has worked like a charm and I get a few more uninterrupted minutes in the morning. Plus the kids seem to be less cranky!

Kids can have fun cleaning to...

So I was going through all of our winter stuff getting it ready and found I had a couple single gloves and socks that had lost their other half...so sad. So I decided to make a craft out of them with the kids (what they didnt know was that it would make cleaning fun) So what we did was each kid picked which glove/sock they wanted and then decorated them however they wanted. The boys made their gloves into spiders and Miss A made hers into a sock puppet. After we glued everything on they put them to work. I showed them that they could pretned they were spiders/puppets going around eating up all the dust. They were actually bickering over who was going to clean what. Needless to say my house is now dusted and I didnt have a single complaint.

What you will need to make your magic cleaning helper:

Glove or sock
Google eyes
Hot glue gun
Other fun goodies to decorate with
Then let them have at it :) Help them glue their stuff on. My kids are to young to use the hot glue gun so I had them place the stuff where they wanted it and then I glues them on. Then let them try them on....

Now it's time to put them work. I put Miss A's on and showed them. I started dancing around and dusting and at that point they were begging me to stop (Im not sure if they wanted me to stop cuz of my dancing or they wanted to get started lol) They had a blast dusting and acting silly and my house is now dust free.

This one was a reandom one that was going to be a scarf. The pink in the hat spells out "LOVE" and I decided to turn it into a hat. My fav part is the little 3D heart hanging from the top!

The scarf Im working on now is going to have the saying "I am who I am" on it in blue and brown (I will put pics up when im done). So thats it for now...my shoulder and fingers hurt from so much crocheting but im having fun!!!

Craft into things

I havnt been crocheting as much I would like to...I thinks it's lack of motivation, but I finished a beanie yesterday and feel good about it. I think the motivations back. Im not one to write down my patterns becasue every thing I start is different due to yarns or how I feel :-) I want to start writing them down tho so I can post them. Maybe I will end up writing this one down and add it. But I took a picture of it cuz it's really simple and cute.
